Guy is a speaker and author with his new book, “Discovering Your Authentic Truth.” He served in the USAF for over twenty years achieving the rank of Lt Col. During that time he flew F-16 fighters in Korea, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Guy also recently retired as a Captain from Southwest Airlines and now works his Cili By Design business full time along with his wife. After managing restaurants for twenty years, he made a drastic decision. Quit. And use everything he learned the hard way about leadership and communication to help children. He’s obsessed with emotional health and storytelling. Combining these two passions, Matt crafts sci-fi stories for his twelve-year-old self—still hiding inside his adult brain. He once won an honorable mention from the Writers of the Future Contest. That went straight to his head and now there’s no stopping him.

Episode 23 with amazing and talented High School Author Shanti Hershenson

 
Shanti Hershenson’s first two novellas were published when she was in the sixth grade, although her writing journey started long before then. Ever since she could hold a pencil, marker, or crayon, she was creating stories. They started from pictures, mere scribbles, and eventually, turned into captivating tales.
She lives in California with her parents, sister, and furry friends. Besides writing, she enjoys skateboarding, Beyblading, free-running, falconry, and of course, reading. 
She writes in a variety of genres, including Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Historical Fiction, although she mostly sticks to Sci-Fi.
She advocates for anti-bullying, and you may find her at open mic-nights, performing her spoken word poem Needles & Thorns, which is about the struggle of bullying in middle schools.
